Cookie policy

This website uses very few cookies, and all of those set by default are technical: they remember your language and your decision about cookies themselves. Here are the details and how to manage them.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits or while you browse. We also use equivalent technologies, such as the browser's local storage (localStorage) and session storage (sessionStorage), to which the same rules apply (Art. 22.2 LSSI-CE and the Spanish Data Protection Agency's guide on the use of cookies).

2. Cookies and storage we use

Inventory of cookies and browser storage
NameTypeOwnerPurposeDuration
NEXT_LOCALETechnical (cookie)First-partyRemembers the language you have chosen (español, galego, English, português) so we can show you the site in that language.12 months
tixola_consentTechnical (localStorage)First-partyStores your two decisions — the Google map and visit measurement — so we don't ask you again on every visit.12 months
tixola_promo_cerradaTechnical (localStorage)First-partyRemembers that you closed the monthly promotion notice so it is not shown to you again.Until another promotion is published or you clear your browser data
tixola:waiter:*Technical (sessionStorage)First-partyKeeps your conversation with the virtual waiter while the tab is open, so it is not lost when you change page.Session (deleted when you close the tab)
Google Maps cookiesThird-partyGoogle LLCOnly if you accept cookies, or if you load the map yourself in the “Find us” section: once loaded, Google may set its own cookies (for example NID or CONSENT) in line with its policy.Set by Google (up to 6 months or longer)
Vercel Web AnalyticsOptional (analytics)Vercel Inc. (USA)Measures, in aggregate, which pages are visited, where visitors come from, which browser they use and roughly which city they are in. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser: Vercel identifies the session with a code computed on its own server and discards it after 24 hours. It loads only if you accept. No cookies used

4. How to accept, reject or change your decision

On your first visit a notice appears with three options: Accept all, Necessary only or Customise (to choose category by category). Your decision is stored for 12 months; after that we will ask you again. You can change it whenever you like:

Opens this website's preferences panel.

You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings. Bear in mind that if you block technical cookies, the website will no longer remember your language or your choice:

5. Third-party cookies: the Google map

The “Find us” section shows our own illustrated map, which sets no cookies at all. The real Google Maps map loads if you have accepted cookies; if you have not, that tab asks your permission first and nothing loads until you press “Show real map”. Once it loads, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and may set cookies in accordance with its privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and its information on cookies (opens in a new tab). If you'd rather not load it, reject cookies, use the “Open in Google Maps” link or simply walk here: we're one minute from the Cathedral.

6. Updates to this policy

We will review this policy whenever the cookies we use or the applicable rules change. Last updated: October 18, 2026. Find out more about how we process your data in the Privacy policy and about the site owner in the Legal notice.
